Dear Sterling Community School faculty, staff, students, and families:

On behalf of the Sterling Community School Teacher of the Year and Paraeducator of the Year committees,  I am excited to announce that Jackie Angelone has been selected as the 2021 Sterling Community School Teacher of the Year and Shannon Johnson has been selected as the 2021 Anne Marie Murphy Paraeducator of the Year for Sterling Community School.

Both Mrs. Angelone and Mrs. Johnson were surprised when Mrs. Chandler, Mrs. Swan, and I visited each of their houses today with gifts of flowers, balloons, a yard sign acknowledging their selection, and a letter addressed to them indicating their selection.

The teacher of the year was nominated by the faculty and staff at Sterling Community School and selected using agreed-upon criteria by a committee of teachers, paraeducators, and administration.  The paraeducator of the year was nominated by students, faculty and staff, parents, and community members and was selected using agreed-upon criteria by a committee of teachers and administration.

We are excited to honor both of these individuals’ dedication to the students at Sterling Community School and the profound impact that they both have on our educational community and students.

Congratulations to both of these individuals on their special recognition.

Sincerely,

Christopher Scott
