Principal's Welcome

Dear Sterling Community School Students and Parents:

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Sterling Community School, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Sterling Community School. We hope that the time that you spend here will be both rewarding and enjoyable. It is the goal of the entire faculty and staff to provide you with the best possible educational experience, as well as, to prepare you to meet the challenges of the future.

To all of our students, your responsibilities while a student at Sterling Community School is varied. Strive to ensure that you get the most out of each class and that you complete all requirements to the best of your ability. If you are struggling with a concept, or need extra help, please talk to your teachers and actively seek their assistance. By setting a good example, working hard, and making positive decisions,  you are recognizing the seriousness of a good education and establishing patterns that will remain with you throughout life.

I encourage all of our students to participate in the various activities that take place during your time at Sterling Community School and to take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. It is our intention not only to provide our students with a well-rounded education but also to help guide them to make appropriate decisions throughout your time at Sterling Community School.

To all of our parents and family members, I encourage you to become involved in our school, whether it be through joining the Sterling Community School PTO, or by becoming a school volunteer and volunteering your time at the various activities that the school holds throughout the year.  Your positive interactions with the school enhance our school community.

I also encourage our parents and family members to visit our school and attend the events that we hold for our families.  We start out the year with a back-to-school picnic so that students and their families can see one another, visit their classrooms, and meet their teachers.  At our yearly curriculum night, our families can visit the classrooms and hear about the amazing learning that students will experience at Sterling Community School.  We hold two parent-teacher conferences throughout the year so that parents can have a brief meeting with their child’s teachers. Parents will also be able to keep up to date with their child’s progress through our PowerSchool Parent Portal system.

Please be sure that you provide the school with your most current contact information so that we can provide you with updates from the school. Most of our correspondences will be sent home through email. It is important for all parents to establish a connection with their child’s teachers.  A brief email to your child’s teacher can start that valuable connection. Additionally, Please be sure to check out our school website at frequently for updated information about what is going on at Sterling Community School.

I believe that open communication is essential in our educational partnership.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me either by phone or email.  My door is always open to professional conversations, questions, suggestions, and concerns. I eagerly await meeting this year’s challenges and celebrating our successes together as a school community.

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Sterling Community School, I wish you all a successful school year.
