The Sterling School District Business Office is located in the Sterling Community School's Main Office suite, although the position of Business Manager is a District-level managerial position.
The Business Manager's job is extensive and includes the following: management all of the district's fiscal services, including accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, service providers contract management, state and federal grants fiduciary management, employee's health and other insurance benefits, workers compensation, and worker's unemployment accounts. The Business Manager also oversees the comprehensive fiscal services database for the school district.
The Business Manager plays a primary role in the development and management of the annual school budget and assists both the Board of Education and the Superintendent in their efforts to package and present the annual school budget to the Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance, and the citizens of Sterling. The Business Manager is a member of the District's Leadership Team and meets regularly with both district and school administrators.
