The Sterling Public School Central or District Office is in the main lobby area of the Sterling Community School. Personnel working at the district-level include the Superintendent, the Director of Special Services and Early Childhood Education, the Business Manager, the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and her Office Clerk, the School Nurse, the Transportation Coordinator and the Educational Technology Specialist. All of these employees contribute to the overall operations of the school district as well as provide direct services to the school operations as well. The district relies on contracted providers for the food services program, the school maintenance and facilities management services, school security services, and other such providers for general managerial operations.
District personnel are responsible for management of district data that must be collected, compiled, and submitted to the Connecticut State Department of Education on a regular basis. The Superintendent's Office also serves, along with the Board of Education, as the liaison to the State Department of Education, to the Sterling Town Offices and elected officials, and to the regional agencies and organizations such as East Conn Regional Educational Service Center.
